* So, I am not intending for this to be any kind of guide *

So far, I've been playing the game as it should have been, looking up my information through the database, hunting monster spawns, doing my SS life quests, etc etc

I wanted to try this and see how far we could go before we hit a ceiling and the profit margins to time spent, to economy $$$, to "Malling" and speeding up processes, trying to help give out some more ideas, maybe give a couple people some insight on Sharpshooters and ways to get around the ceilings

-Vita (Vaelin) (Port Royal)

Upon starting out, I will also say, I originally played this game under Tales of Pirates, as Scila, I played SS back then as well, Coming into PKO was a little bit different and could most definitely be due to the fact that I played the game some odd 15 years ago probably it feels lol :S - HUGE pro to coming to PKO was finding out that you couldnt "Mall your way" to victory so to speak. *grabs pipe* BACK IN MY DAY your big wigs would blow 1000$'s for UG gems just to compete with each other - I agree with supporting games you play and spend time playing as your only assuring yourself more satisfaction, But not to the extent that if you don't pay, you simply cannot play with the rest. Naturally my competitive side came out and I was also one of those people lol ""..

That being said, Sharpshooter is that class that unfortunately requires you to have these items - Id say its truthfully Sharpshooters biggest disadvantage, you can play 2 sides, You can be a muppet, with the ability to take a hit, and seal off enemies, or you could spend thousands to compete with some of the other classes and go the DPS route.

Then you step into your next biiiiiiiig hurdle of planning, What to do what to do...

Shiny fancy bow? go fast? yes

Flashy gun? go pew pew? yes

Ill start off by saying that if you are new to this game, be a good noodle, and go with a gun first, learn the mechanics of the game.
Learn rotations, listen to your Voice leader and follow commands. Decide to build a bow ss as a secondary achievement, once you have the $$$ the means and time.

You have a few drawbacks with picking either side of the tree

If you decide to be a PEW PEW master, Your going to be the slowest damn character ever. Its grueling trying to level an SS that has the attack speed of the newbie knife. "But i hit 1200 dmg a shot" but it takes you 3 seconds to reload to the next bullet.. But its that unfortunate trade off, and when your solo grinding. Its time consuming, and due to literally the way humans are built, if its time consuming it makes everything more "difficult"

If you decide to be a speedy boy, and take a bow, You literally might aswell be shooting arrows full of fluff and sadness at your enemies -- Mom always said "Kill em with kindness"-- SO if you decide that your going to take a bow, you should consider a few options, Now you can attack quickly but that cost comes at a HUGE min / max attack offset, the only way to really correct this is to dump points into accuracy, right? well you still need to be able to hit faster then the guy with the gun, but you also need to hit harder - Here comes the next issue, Due to this being the VaNiLlA version, you cant add gems to your bow / gun outside of your typical furious gems, but... they only add +6dmg to your min/max - But the explosive gems themselves add +10dmg to something that already has a massive gap, id say estimating that your typical damage difference from bow to gun is going to average 90-110% difference. We will take for example the lv55 Unsealed bow vs. lv50 Battle rifle

lv55 Piecer of Eva Min - Max 155 / 167

LEVEL 50 BATTLE RIFLE Min - Max 172 / 273

So this is literally a basic ass hand rifle, that being WHITE, has no -% attspd, -10 hit rate (EASILY offsetable by lv2 lust) will have higher damage then a level... 55 ... unseal
that makes sense... i guess? Balancing @ its finest, you mean to tell me that a lv50 gun, that you get from getting a full star of unity, has literally almost the same level of damage effect as a crusader also at lv55 using 2 DoE's (Roughly 152-3 max dmg per DoE) your literally 20 min/max from being a crusader.. @ lv50 SS

ANNNNYWAYS --

SO you take the bow, you get a +3% attspd bonus +6 accuracy +3 const +16 hit rate factoring in, +6 acc would put me at... hmm probably like 190 ish max +3% of attspd id say dps counter would push me close to 201 dps - So even at its finest the bow cant even compare to that of a gun. BUT if you plan on PvP, the bow is SO neccessary, guns are as well, but in order to be able to even compete with the Crusaders your dual shot has to pretty much outdo them, and with all the above being stated, trying to get your dmg high enough literally will require you to sink money to be able to compete.

These are all huge disadvantages, and i hope it really doesnt discourage people from playing sharpshooters, they truthfully are fun classes and i will continue to play Vaelin slowly overtime as i work too much, and hopefully i can eventually turn this into a prolonged guide for some newcomers to learn some more indepth tricks and tips with Sharpshooters so there will be more of us around :p

Now say you dont mind spending a little extra to be able to play with the rest, because it truthfully will pay off in the long-run, a really well built SS is untouchable, and for the very reason that the early game is just so poor, the end game for SS is FUN, you clear fast, you move fast, and hit even faster, everybody will always be up in the air of whats better, ACC-CON CON-AGI Acc -AGI
Really at the end of the day you are going to want to be agi / acc and the reasons behind why your going to want to prioritize agility over acc, has absolutely nothing to do with how form over function is at all, it truthfully has more to do with the fact that lets face it every class that isnt a caster needs speed, which means what?

That means that UG winds- Broken, Chipped, Cracked, all the above are going to be so damn expensive, and so few and far inbetween. But you know whats not? due to the lack of playerbase the game boasts, and even smaller player base being SS NOBODY USES UG STRIKING. Theyre literally 4m. as apposed to 10m for a UG wind.
This will not always be true as the economy will always fluctuate, But using a little bit of common sense, if i can make almost a lv2 striking for the price im going to pay for 1 UG wind, im literally going to go AGI / ACC all day because i can always decide too much attspd and reset my agi down trading it back to accuracy, then when im capped out in accuracy and my attspd stays above the 180 attspd threshold without needing AGI points i will reset my leftover points into con, i feel this is the most effective method as of this moment due to the way the economy is this will allow me to continue progression without spending nearly as much as i would going acc / agi route first. or con acc first.

the next internal struggle is the realization that an SS needs to be a high level to be able to shine, because you have 2 weapon styles to be able to maximize efficiency, you need to be able to put skill points in the places thats going to cause the most damage, and in order to get everything you need, youll probably need to be somewhere around lv68 -70 before your truthfully at the point that your going to be a cause of concern. That being said, it kinda puts a huge damper on the mid game, which is why SS tends to not have much of a retention, having a level 55 ss is literally useless, trying to take a SS to DS is like... literally why would you torture yourself like that you dont do any damage yet really, and you cant take a hit because your PR is literally that of a piece of paper floating to the wind, top that off with the low low rates DS offers and your asking for a terrible costly ineffective time and your going to need SOOOOOOOOOOO many gems to even be able to be viable at rates your given unfortunately,

Now from my recent experience, leveling from 55-60 was absolutely grueling, Vaelin sat at 140 acc, 40 agi, 40 con, and I was still literally struggling, with BIS gear, thus my ceiling cap hit, and from now ive needed a buffer, so that slowed progression down, however since then ive made a buffer and was back to grinding out ss life quests and more, this weekend i will probably go against my word and use hexa on Vaelin to get her to 65, so i can use lv65 uns bow, and make a few gear changes, here and there, and i will update with this further, but as of the moment, grinding with an SS at 60 with close to BIS gear is still tedious, it takes a stupid amount of time, and its really impossible without using a buffer,

With where the game is, and at its current state, it was never meant to be a game that you could sit and play for hours on end due to the fact that its very clunky, the animations, clunk harder, the games tick rate clunks even slower then that, which makes it something you turn on to do your DW runs for 2 hours or so and then log off till the next boss rotation without having much to do in-between because there was never anything built in motion to keep the retention of your players in the middle of the game, as well as there isnt really much support as to telling you what you even can do with all that freetime, this game as without a doubt a reward based off playtime not necessarily in game time.

I want to see this game succeed to the level more players and etc come to play and join us, like it was back in the old days, i know its pretty unrealistic, but realistically, if the Development team of PKO were to add a few more things such as items, gems, skills, actual guide progression, a stern look to the EXP formulas, this game would be literally amazing, give people an idea of what to do when theyre starting out, lead the horse to water, let them decide to drink it <3 I hope nobody takes anything personal just my personal insight so far

Thanks for reading if you made it this far,
Eventually I will be making a guild for helping people along, and hopefully be a informative source of info for the community, if you see me ingame dont hesitate to say hello!
Ill see you around <3

I don't necessarily agree with everything, but I enjoyed reading this a lot ^^ Would like to see you keep it going.

Hi. I remember playing this game around 2009 - 2011. It was called TOP back then. And there was a guy, Sharpshooter, he used a Bow, not a Gun. He was striking fast - swept through dungeons like bitch from hell - fast movement, fast shooting. It was incredible - almost impossible to catch'em with a slash. I know nothing about Shooter class. What build could it be? Full Agi or something? I'll appreciate any hint. Thank you in advance, gentlemen.
