Is that a Max number of gems that i Can put on a weapon?

Ive seen something about beeing 9 , but It means i can have 2 lvl 9 gems on an equip And a lvl 18 equip , or can i have only 1 lvl 5 And other lvl 4 to make a lvl 9 equip?

In this server, the max socket slot is 2 and the max gem is lv 5, meaning u can not make ur equipments higher than +10

also black dragon gems cap is 3, so if u gonna get unique gems and bd gems the max is +8 [ lv5 + lv3]
