First of all the whole facebook integration is to address few of problems including spam management, account security, inconvenience registering, and many more.
Upon registering you'll be asked to permit PKO associating your newly created account to Facebook account, Meaning they are bound each to other and can be never removed or changed.
As for privacy issues you should feel not safe disclosing, Please understand that we are not asking you to disclose anything private at all, In-fact by the Facebook's terms, The e-mail address and along the profile picture is considered to be "public domain". Even then, You are not required to use the profile picture and the email address is never shared or revealed to anybody else ever.
Now We've got over the privacy concerns, Other benefits about Facebook accounts is that they help us with legitimately of accounts. To get in PKO you need to first get through the Facebook's anti-spam system, Which is tremendous boost and considering the amount of bot/spammers/unfavorable users we deal everyday.
Not only it deals with unfavorable users but it also by default protects you and your account because: you no longer have main(forum) account password, all authentications are done by Facebook and their Facebook servers.
