This is an idea that I have had for a long time, but never found the time to voice it. This idea could be implemented into multiple PK zones, but for this instance, I would like this idea to be used to for the BD maze.
Disclaimer: I am a member of Showtime, and you can call me biased, but I want players to know that I want to contribute from a stance of neutralism. This suggestion is to hope to improve BD PK, Guild synergy, and prevent Boss KS, which brings no fun to big mazes.
Please try to understand the origin of this idea. This idea stems from some statements made by my guildmates AFTER TOUGH LOSS. After these statements were made, I went back through some videos of Wins/Loss, the attendance of each BD, and the time zones of each BD to confirm a few things.
These are what I’ve confirmed from the past information.
1) In the recent BDs, the losing guild have been the guild that entered Lair 2 first and started BD
2) Both guilds usually have a good attendance, especially in their time zone, about 27 +/- members present at each BD. In the case of extreme outnumber discrepancy, which is 15+, most of the time the guilds fall within the range of 5-9-member discrepancy. Meaning 30 vs 50, 20 members difference, does not happen often.
3) Time zone do exist as a factor, as an advantage or disadvantage
FINALLY, FOR MY IDEA. (The essential concept)
My idea begins with a numerical limit of players that can enter the boss room. This means that only a certain number of players can enter the room and once the room is filled, other players must wait for open slots to be created inside the boss room. Slots are created by PK. Killing off the enemy will result in open slots. When slots are created, players from the outside can enter in to fill the open slots. 1 player can only fill 1 slot. This process will continue until the boss is dead.
Application/ PRACTICAL USAGE: This is the application of the idea in the BD maze. Since both guilds usually have over 50 members, 27+/- each, combined. Let us say that there is a total of 45 open slots. The slots are taken by first come first server. Meaning the first 45 players to the statue will enter the boss room. BUT…PLAYERS CAN ONLY ENTER THE BOSS ROOM 15 MINUTES BEFORE THE BOSS SPAWNS. This is done so that players can’t enter the boss room 2 hours ahead of time to avoid PK, or just save slots. This also enhances the important of PK in Lair 1, to maintain control, and guild organization/ preparation, to be initiative and maintain control. NOTE: NO KEYS NECESARRY TO ENTER STAUTE. Once 1 guild has all entered the room and taken roughly 30 slots, 15 slots are left. This is concept is done to reward the winners in Lair 1 and boost the important of Lair 1 control. Once the boss spawn the inside guild will start the boss and maintain control of lair 2. The outside guild can choose to enter and kill, to create more slots, or wait for the right opportunity. Here is the catch. Creating more slots by killing the enemy guild allows for more open slots. This means that more allies can enter, greatening the outside guild’s chance at overtaking. If they wait to KS, they would only enter the room with 15 players, the number of open slots left. This once again stress the importance of Lair 1 PK, guild coordination, and PK over a long period.
This here is a rough idea of the concept that I would like to see one day. There are a lot of details that can be ironed out but this is the essential of the idea. The boss room is like sort of like a knock out maze
NOTE: Reviving dead players will have limitations. A dead person can only stay in the maze for 5 seconds, if they are not revived within that time span, they automatically spawn in the city. This is so that people don’t stay dead forever and hold slots from players outside.
I would like discussion/advice on how to conduct this portion of the maze. PLAYERS FROM THE OUTSIDE ENTERING/WAITING TO ENTER. --------------------This was my initial idea. I thought that outside players would have to apply to wait to enter. When they apply to wait they will be assign a number. When a slot has opened, a random number will be generated and only the person with the corresponding number can enter. Of course, this is after the 45 slots have been filled. I felt that randomly allowing player entry would benefits players that have died and chosen to rerun back to the statues because it gives them another slim chance to enter the boss room. If the numerical list existed and entry were simply done down the waiting list, players from the opposing guild that reran would have to wait forever to reenter.
