Hi everyone,

For some reason, yesterday and today I have not been able to load more than 1 client for PKO. The first client will load no problem, but when I try to load another to get buffer on, I get this error message. After this, no PKO launcher appears. If I try again then to load PKO again, another error message pops up saying cannot load more than 1 launcher!

Does anyone know why this is happening and how to fix it?

I have ran the version check already but it has not fixed problem.

Thanks very much.

Okay image didn't work but the message reads as follows:

"Pirate King Online has encountered a internal problem! Please send us your technical log containing support information. You need to visit out forum support centre and create topic with log details. Log location C:\Program files x86\pirate king online\pkolauncherlog.txt"

Kindly do show us the content inside of the pkolauncherlog.txt and we'll get right down to figuring out what's wrong.

Hopefully this is what you need...

It appears that the launcher isn't being run as administrator;

Your post indicates you are having intermediate problems with launching client. Our launcher is heavily customized, It is very diligent as it performs many critical functions that invokes proper playing condition.

The very first thing you should do is try by doing a 'Version Check' this will ensure your launcher and client are the latest available offering, as older ones may not function properly or do not have capabilities to play.

1. Locate PirateKingOnlineLauncher.exe and execute as Administrator. Right-Click on PirateKingOnlineLauncher.exe and click "Run as Administrator". PirateKingOnlineLauncher.exe is located in main client folder, or you may have a short cut to PirateKingOnlineLauncher.exe on desktop.

2. After the client launcher is launched, Begin Version Check by clicking on button at top left corner, Where a drop menu will appear with choice of "Version Check" in the top of list.

3. The launcher will automatically quickly scan your client files and begin to download any missing or malformed client files.

At this point, If you are still unable to play, It means that you have a service or program that is actively blocking the connection such as firewall or anti-virus.

1. Unfortunately because there is too many anti-virus and firewall solutions there is no easy way of turning them off, You will need to contact your antivirus/firewall company to ask them how to remove/stop.

2. In very rare condition, You may have a ISP that does internet filtering which means you most likely cannot play because ISP do not remove or allow you to circumvent this filtering.

Hi Zankza,

Thanks for replying.

Every time I click on PKO launcher it has always asked to run as admin which I always say yes to. Can you think of any reason why I can run 1 client with no problem but the 2nd won't load? Seems odd If it IS down to my firewall/anti-virus that it would let the program load once but then not again. Though I am no expert!

Thanks

I gotta say, I am curious, how exactly are you opening multiple clients? Are you trying to run two of launcher at once? What if you tried like this:

1. run/launch the PKO client,
2. once you are logged into the first account,
3. go back to PKO launcher and run/launch the PKO client.

The trick is to never open the launcher together twice, always after first one finishes launching, then open up second time.

So I click on PKO logo and press yes run as admin.. Then the launcher pops up and I'll press play. Goes to loading, then game loads, then I log on to my account and am in game.

Then I go to click on PKO logo again and then the error message pops up.

OK, so you can run first client without problem: so how about this, once you have the first client up and running, minimize it.

Open up task manager and report back with a screenshot, IF you are able to locate PirateKingOnlineLauncher.exe in the process list. (please note that you are not supposed to have PirateKingOnlineLauncher.exe or PirateKingOnlineLauncher_d.exe at this point)

Ok so I have uninstalled and reinstalled game. I have also just re-started by PC.

I have loaded game and its running fine. I've gone to task , it shows PKO as an app currently running. I've looked through the long list of processes, there's nothing in there about piratekingonlinelauncher.exe.

However, I have gone to load a second client and the error message has come up again. Now the launcher is at the task manager view. When I click 'OK' on here, it disappears. I then click PKO logo again and it pops up 'cannot load more than 1 launcher', but there is nothing on the task manager saying that pko launcher is running.

Also just to add, I also tried turning off my firewall and virus scanner however I was still having this problem...

It's very late for me now so I am going to sleep xD if you think of any ideas I will try them tomorrow. Thanks for your help so far anyway.

Hey, why don't you come on discord channel? then we can chat in real time messaging, how about that?

Thanks for trying to help. I have tried to play again this morning however am still getting same messages. Do you have any other ideas how I can fix this? Also I have a discord account if you want to PM me.

To update as well, I have reinstalled the game again however now I can't load even one client! It still pops up with message 'cannot load more than one copy of launcher!' even when I have not clicked to open PKO. This also happens when I have logged out and restarted computer... and there is nothing in task manager to say the launcher is already running. I am very confused as to why this is happening. :(

If Client crash. I would suggest to submit a crash report https://piratekings.online/forum/threads/guide-submitting-game-crash-reports.1060/
If Launcher crash, I would suggest to Add both Launcher and Game to Anti-Virus exceptions.

You can also try to move whole game folder to another place within your user. Like Downloads, Document, Saved Games etc.

Thank you for all of your suggestions. I have now today gone a bit wild and reinstalled windows and restarted the whole laptop. I have just re-installed PKO with fingers crossed and blissfully managed to open 1,2,3 clients without problems. :) Something strange obviously went wrong somewhere, hopefully will not happen again...!! :)

That's dedication....

@Developer I think you are right - I have tried again to play PKO today and same error message! :( I have then uninstalled McAfee and now it is working as normal again. Perhaps the problem lies with McAfee... I will try to find a way to fix it....! :)

Try adding Launcher and Game.exe to Exceptions list.
Normally, respected AV vendors totally ignore any application activity if added to Exception list.
