1. INTRODUCTION

Hi, my in-game name is Crushed (Port Royal), and this will be my first guide on how to make money for completely new player or returning new players to the game based on my own experience of trying different money making methods.
Special shoutout to the developers of the game for making this great game available again, sometimes nostalgia hits hard and it's great to be able to revive it through our old favorite games.

2. BASICS

So you just created your account and have some account slot available, I recommend you to make at least 2, so you can make your first two characters in different accounts.
The recommendation is to make a Hunter (Lance or Phyllis) and an Herbalist (Ami or Phyllis). Since the Hunter won't be needing high level equipment it's gender doesn't matter, but the Herbalist is recommended to be an Ami for the Cap bonus stats, also her high level equipment are easier to find since you will be using her in the long run.

3. LEVELING UP

Since this guide is not focused on leveling up, I will just give you some tips and spots where to level up.

  • Leveling Spots
    • Level 01-09: Do newbie quests, this can help you get Gloves and some money.
    • Level 09-12: Sea Snail at Ascaron 1989,2838 (Near Abandon Mine Haven, save spawn point here).
    • Level 12-15: Bear Cub at Ascaron 1850,2804 - 1961,2903 (South of Abandon Mine Haven).
    • Level 15-18: Angelic Panda at Ascaron 1630,2547 - 1755,2610 (North of Abandon Mine Haven).
    • Level 18-25: Smuggler at Ascaron 1570,2984 - 1678,3050 (West of Rockery Haven, save spawn point here).
      • It's reccomended to stay here for a long time because Smuggler drops can be sold for a high price, good for low levels.
    • Level 25-30: Rookie Boxeroo at Ascaron 1026,2875 - 1209,2972 (West of Andes Forest Haven, Save spawn point here).
    • Level 30-34: Mad Boar at Ascaron 865,2915 - 956,3028 (East of Andes Forest Haven).
    • Level 34-41: Go back to Abandon Mine Haven and stay here killing Miner Mole and Vampire Bat , try to stay away from Mud Monster since they are really sturdy and hard to kill.

4. BUILD

NOTE: Remember, this Hunter won't be your main, so don't worry too much about Stats and Equips, since this one will be a stepping stone for our true main character.
  • Hunter
    • Go full ACC, but if you're on verge of death pretty often, put some points in CON, 5-10 at most. We want to be able to get at most to level 41, minimum to level 30
  • Herbalist
    • Go full SPR, there is no other way around it, CON is only worth after having Max SPR.

5. SKILLS

NOTE: Same as before, this won't be your main so don't worry too much about skills, just what is needed to level up easier.
  • Hunter
    • Range Mastery to Level 3
    • Dual Shot to Level 2
    • Frozen Arrow to Level 1
    • Windwalk
For our Hunter maxing Windwalk is a MUST, since he will be our farmer, we need him to be fast so you can save some time walking from place to place.
After having Max Windwalk (you'll be able to get it at 25), you can put the points wherever you want, my recommendation is go for Max Range Mastery first (passive damage) and then Max Dual Shot for more skill damage, at Level 40 you will have that.
  • Herbalist
    • Heal to Level 3
    • Harden to Level 1
    • Spiritual Bolt to Level 2
    • Spiritual Fire to Level 4
    • Tempest Boost
For our buffer I recommend to follow up this route, since you will be needing a lot of heal during the process (trust me on this one) and that Defense Buff can help you out from lower levels a lot.
After getting all that (at Level 20) you can Max whatever you want first and suits more to your playstyle, I personally prefer to go max Tempest Boost first because that Movement Speed Bonus always comes in handy when traveling long distances.
At Level 36 you can have Max Tempest Boost and Spiritual Fire, after that you can go for Revive (Harden level 3- Recover Level 4 and then Revive), Max Harden or save points for Cleric Buffs.

6. PETS

This one a bit tricky, because it will mostly depend of what Class your main will be, so you can go for any type of pet.

My personal approach is buy 2 fairies and make them CON pets, one for the Hunter and the other one to the Herbalist, and start leveling them.
You can buy the pets from players but I rarely see fruits being sold at stalls so you will need to buy RUMS for them (9 RUM each), all you need is to make them at least Level 1 and put Novice Meditation (9 RUM each pet skill at the mall) so your SP (needed for skills) won't go down fast.

Summarizing, to make a pet you will need at least 18 RUM and a Level 0 Fairy (9 RUM for the fruit you need and other 9 for Novice Meditation)

  • Why 2 CON pet?
    • Because you can marry both pets later and get Fairy Possession and Second Generation CON pet is the easiest to use or sell since most classes can have it as a secondary pet.
  • Why at least level 1?
    • So you can start getting Fairy Coin and Elven Signet that you will be needing if you are interested in making more money via Manufacturing.

7. GETTING READY

So, when you get to have a decent damage and level (at least 30), you will need to start Story Quest because with it we can get Life Skill Points, needed to learn skills we'll need to start making some good money. Here is a Guide found in the forum. -> Story Quest Guide <- Just to be noted, some of the rewards listed were changed.

You will need at least 2 life skill points, but 4 points is recommended (Until mission 12. The Lost Tool).
  • Why? Because we need to learn 2 Skills, Woodcutting and Set Stall.
  • If you do it with both characters, one can learn Woodcutting and Manufacturing and the other one can learn Stall and Max it (Level 3 is Max )

8. GETTING MONEY

So now that you have all the skills needed there are two main things you can do
  1. Chopping wood.
  2. Farming mobs for drops.
Let me give a detailed explanation:

8.1. Chopping Wood

You can farm 2 specific wood that you can sell at stalls
  • Pine Tree for Wood
    • Best spot is south of Abandon Mine Haven, near to the shore, just be careful, there are high level mobs nearby.
    • This one is for Hexathlon, it's hard to sell it during the weekdays, best time to sell it is during Friday to Sunday near Event NPC - Pappa .
  • Defoliate Pine for Ash Wood Log
    • This one is recommended to be exchanged at Wood Processing Merchant ; 99 Ash Wood Logs make 20 Ash Wood Strip .
    • Ash Wood Strip is needed for manufacturing, and is used in every level 1 recipe, so a lot of people will buy it to save time.

8.2. Farming Mobs for drops

Golden Rule: NEVER KILL STEAL

What's Kill Steal (KS)? Is when you give the finishing blow to a mob that is being attacked by someone else, and you can get the drops, this is low and only ugly people do that.

Now that we have stated that, let's get to the actual farm. We will be killing Oyster .

Best Spot is at Icicle around 889,375 - 1000,455.

Near there you can also find Snowy Mystic Shrub , we will be also killing those.

So now what we will be keeping to sell at our stall:
Try to get at least one or two stack of each, they can go from 100k to 150k (Port Royal at least, not sure for Tortuga) for each stack depending on your luck and patience.

You can keep selling Blurry Blueprint and Pure Water , those two are really demanded because Flash Bomb Lv1 is an amazing PVP item, it stuns people in a specific area, truly useful for high level people and guilds during Chaos Argent and Black Dragon Raid. So that's almost a guaranteed sell at stalls for the right price.

9. FURTHER MONEY MAKING

Once you got some cash in your pockets, you can go and try manufacturing by yourself, for better understanding on Manufacturing you can check this amazing guide found here in the forum

10. GENERAL TIPS

  • Make use of the database, it's really helpful for almost everything in the game Database Link

  • Make a Party with with both of your characters for the first levels (From 10 to 30~), it will be easier to buff and heal your Hunter without Herbalist losing follow up (Alt + Click on character) if you cast the skill through party interface (red circle).

  • Always take all your drops, and resell them to NPC for easy cash on low levels, you will need all the gold possible.

  • Try saving all your New Sheepskin Scroll so at level 30~40 you could go to Shaitan and build a ship to use them, portal is really close to Shaitan Dock at 0877, 3756 once you are in Treasure Gulf you can find the dock at 0658, 0993, if you are lucky you can get some good items, for further info on items check here Caribbean Treasure Map . I don't recommend using this as your main income source

  • Always be friendly and try to speak with people if you want to farm in a specific spot so you can divide the farming or take turns, you can even get lucky and find a mentor so he can take you to level 41, remember you can try to ask once for something, like help or money, but don't spam the chat with your messages, no one likes annoying people.

  • Try checking Stalls before putting your own so you can price check some items, or if you're not sure you can ask in World Chat for it, you don't want to be scammed with prices, remember you spent some of your precious time getting all that, make it worth what is it.

  • Take advantage of Offline Stall, so you don't need to leave your client open, you can check the official guide here

  • When you are farming at monster drop consider using double drop rate items like Charmed Berry and Amplifier of Luck (best one for low level chars), so you can get more from your time.

  • And remember to have fun, if it stops being funny you might want to consider taking a small break before going forward.
