Can I fuse equipment for different body type?

If it's an item usable by both Lance and Phyllis, you can - with a certain "method".
First of all, the aforementioned requirement has to be met - which means it's either an all class item (like
Chaos Framestone
) or an item for a class mutual to Lance and Phyllis (for example SS or Voy items - like
Apollo Clawstone
or
Tsunami Robe
).
You can undergo this "race" change by fusing the equipment in an apparel usable by both lance and Phyllis - an example would be Warrior set. Now it's usable by both Lance and Phyllis and can be fused into an apparel for either of those races if you wish to do so.

I do have an extra question: since Ami is the only race that have hats with defense, can I turn an Ami voyager hat into a Phyllis voyager hat with this method using a piece that's usable by both Ami and Phyllis to provide some extra defense for Phyllis? Thank you so much!
Sadly hats with stats (non apparel ones) are exclusively only to AMI's
This method is only usable on items which can be used by both classes. So in the "hat" case, it would have to be an item usable by both Ami and Phyllis - if the item is usable only by one of them (like the statted hats) - the item will still be usable only by Ami, even if fused to a common apparel.

That's so helpful, thank you so much! I searched through PKO guides page and unable to reach a conclusion regarding my questions. I am not a new player since I've been playing the Chinese version since 2007, but the Chinese version had a less informative website and I'm unable to figure out the answer to my questions.
