News Transfer System

Dear Players,

We regret to inform you that Pirate King Online will be shutting down the Tortuga Server soon. This is a difficult decision for us, but we have to do it for the sake of the game's future. We appreciate your loyalty and support over the years.

We will not be performing a full server merge, but offer you a chance to transfer your most valuable game characters to the Port Royal Server. We understand that this may affect your gameplay experience and your relationships with other players, but we hope you will continue to enjoy Pirate King Online on the new server.

To facilitate the transfer process, we will give each registered user 2 free character transfer tokens. You can use these tokens to move your character from Tortuga to Port Royal. If you need more tokens, you can buy them using the Support Tickets system.

To use a character transfer token, you need to open the account edit modal on game accounts page, and select the transfer option. The transfer is immediate.

Please note that when you transfer your character, you will keep your inventory, bank, ships, quest progress and skills. However, you will lose your guild membership, friend list, disciples and mentor. If you are the leader of a guild, you must either pass leadership to someone else or disband the guild before transferring.

The Tortuga Server will be closed on April 15th, Saturday. After closure, player will be allowed to transfer until April 30th. Please make sure to use your character transfer tokens before then. Any unused tokens will be forfeited.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you. We hope you will understand our reasons and join us on the Port Royal Server. We will continue to work hard to provide you with the best possible gaming experience.

Little Daniel from Tortuga walked slowly towards the house. He had just returned from Shaitan, where the last briefing on the shards research was taking place. There were many words, something about the meta-structures that formed after the polarize of the goddess nature, about the energies and fields that support the continuum, about changes in Mirages and Chaos. Daniel did not remember everything exactly, because the conclusion overshadowed everything.

Reality should stop. This was the conclusion of all observations, all research. This is the most ridiculous end of the world. Because its inhabitants should not even know this. And the saddest thing is that there is no way for him to do anything! This is not fair.

The majority of the population will be able to move to Port Royal, preparations for this are already underway, but some residents will remain here. There is already an identical twin of Daniel in Port Royal, reality simply will not accept him there, he will not be able to pass through the portal.

Oh, what will happen in Port Royale, he would like to see it! Changing markets and redistributing areas of influence is the least imaginable. He can't imagine how the cities will deal with this. Need to look to history, there may have been similar situations.

Daniel passed the house, turned at the forge, and continued toward the west pier. Although the worlds are generally the same, they have different stories. This is not the world that should stop, this is the stories that should stop.

In the north-west of the city, near the pier, there is a chapel in which you can climb the bell tower. Daniel surveyed the city.

Deleting our hard earned characters (In my case, a bunch of high leveled rebirthed chars I've spent hundreds of hours on) unless we pay IRL $ to not have it deleted, is so bad.

The system is in place to transfer. It's simply a matter of milking $ from us. Many players have their characters on different emails, and can move tons of characters over. Some people like me, have all my chars on the same email and can't for an arbitrary reason. This is unbelievably disappointing and is alienating players who've put hundreds of hours and tons of $ into the game. Also killing an income source for a quick buck short term instead of long term.

The intention was not to shutdown completely but have a transfer without majorly affecting port royal, complete merge would have caused a lot of problems, as Tortuga almost has 2x of port royal items.

Can't you just automatically transfer everyone in Tortuga?
What about sending an email notification to them?

TBF we all transfered all the items of all chars, just couldnt transfer the chars themselves. So we got high lvl chars with completely empty banks and inventories. Doesn't affect PR to have those empty high lvl chars transfered :/

It's been a minute since I've last played PKO, especially on Tortuga, but I felt like commenting for nostalgia's sake if nothing else. Tortuga's release was a historic occasion for this game, and thinking back it almost feels like a fever dream considering how much things have changed since then.
It was the birthplace of many memories, friendships, and at the end of the day, it was the closest thing to not only bringing ToP 1 back, but also reimagining and modernizing it.
I know the game itself is not going anywhere, though I can't help but reminiscence over the original server closing down, considering it's where PKO itself was "born".

Big thanks to Zankza (RIP) and the Dev team for all the work they've done on Tortuga and on this game in general. Best of luck with the transfer and moving forward.

Thanks for playing and supporting all this years, sad to see it go ourselves, but had to make this decision. 90% of our staff is from Ukraine, past 1 year has been real hard on us due to war crisis which resulted in lack of updates and activity. Currently we have some stability, hopefully we continue to provide some updates and keep the community engaged.

I'm just losing lvl 80 chars i grinded hard for so I am affected. They have no gear/items on them now anyway. I fit every item i had across all chars into the 2 banks & inventories of the characters i transferred .

they never gave any free transfer more, i lost some chars too... its non sense they do that, just want make ppl waste more rum items plvling or in our char inventory etc... so sad.
It isnt a serious server...
Making ppl invite friend to game to get more account slot and then they make u choose only 2 chars...... In my opinion it's pitiful and pathetic...

So yeah.. Its probably for good because I dont want to play again and get deleted again without any notification or mail. Its pain.

The people running this server have made the biggest mistake with this... The player base is nostalgia players who have put many hours and real life cash into this just to have the rug pulled. All my accounts got deleted, I did not see this in time as many others. I hope they have backups for the server and characters so they can fix this disaster. If this is not reversed it will be the death of PKO.
